I like it soo cute!! A little tip: try too smooth the edges of the shadows, that will make the picture much better! But beside of that, your shading is good, and i also like the background ^__^ so keep it up, and have a nice weekend!
This any better? I smoothed out the shadows a little. I only changed those on Lily and Scorpius since i didn't use layers in the original picture. The background looked a mess when i tried to change it.
very good! ^__^ It definitely looks better! I think the hard shadows in the background are okay, because the shadows on the snow aren't that dark, and shadows in trees are usually pretty sharp. Both; hard and smooth shadows can look good/realistic, it's always helpful to take a closer look to the thing you draw, to see what kind of shadow it naturally has. ... hope you can understand what i am trying to say, my english is pretty bad and this is a very difficult topic.... ?__? if you are unsure about the "right" shadow, you could start to use layers and try different shadows, after some time you'll get a feeling for it
